Lake Erie offers some of the best State Parks to visit. The parks offer water and trail access to the shores of Lake Erie. The parks are frequented by people looking to bird watch, swim, fish, and hike. Some parks offer camping as well. All parks are easily accessed and links are provided to see trail maps and access points. In no particular order, the below information will help you choose the best Lake Erie State Park to visit this year.

1. East Harbor State Park

East Harbor State Park has a lot to offer travelers. There is a full service campground, beach, and boat launch ramp with plenty of parking. Registration prior to your visit is required and can be accessed at Ohio DNR. The campground is family friendly and close to all Lake Erie attractions.

2. Lake Erie Metropark

The Cleveland Metroparks offer a lot of real estate to explore. Some of the amenities include boat launch ramps, fishing access, hiking/biking trails, and horseback riding. Keep in mind there is a pass required now for launching boats within the park district. There is plenty of stream access in the metroparks for fishing or other activities. 3. Erie Bluffs State Park

Erie Bluffs State Park offers a 587 acre park to the public. It offers breathtaking views over 1 mile of Lake Erie’s shoreline. Also in the park is access to Elk Creek, a world famous Steelhead Trout stream. People visit from all over the country to fish for Steelhead Trout. More information can be found on the DCNR page.
